Embrace The Detour!

Lauren1

Yesterday, while Paprika was at pre-school, Ginger and I went and visited my friend, Lauren.

She is 39+ weeks pregnant, and until yesterday, I had a sneaking suspicion that she might possess some other-worldly powers...you know, super-human powers. Yesterday, I confirmed that she is, in fact, a bonafide superwoman. At 39 weeks, she has twice the energy and vitality of most non-pregnant women. Whatever she's doing, she needs to bottle it up and sell it. Seriously!

We had a delightful lunch and chatted about all things baby. She doesn't know yet if she's having a boy or a girl, so we did all the silly speculations that don't add up to a real answer but are fun while you're doing them. Needless to say, I can't wait to find out what she's having!

Lauren has been a wonderful friend to me through the years. First during our years together at Berkeley Law, when life was all about tests, books, and boys. Well, two boys, in particular...Don (her husband) and Mr. Mustard (mine, of course)! When I was pregnant with Paprika, she co-hosted my baby shower. That was an amazing day! She has continued to be a great friend and support through all of the ups and downs life has thrown at me these past few years. I am really lucky to have such wonderful friends.

I am so excited as she begins this new chapter in her life! She is blogging about her new adventures on her blog, Embrace The Detour. I can't wait to see what the future holds for Lauren. She is definitely one of those people who inspires others to live their best lives. Yea!!!
