Labor Day Weekend!

9-6-10-5-800

It's been a relaxing weekend for us.

On Sunday, we just chilled at home. We don't do that too often, but sometimes it just works. Paprika woke up at 11am on Sunday, and then Ginger went down for a three hour nap an hour later! So, there was a lot of sleep going on in the house.

While Ginger was napping, Mr. Mustard and Paprika washed the cars! Oh, I know you're jealous! Haha! But it's one of Paprika's favorite things to do..."give the cars a nice, warm bath!"

I took this next photo on Friday, and even though it's not technically the "best picture"- it reminds me of the scene in our house oh so often these days:

Ginger is becoming quite the girly-girl! She can't go anywhere without her baby dolls, her phone, and her stroller. Oh yes, and her hair bow!

She cracks me up!

She does her little jibber-jabber into the phone, and then will put her doll in the stroller and RUN with her across the room.

Then, she'll pick up her up, pat her on the back, and give her a huge hug. It is cute overload!

Last night I got to go out to dinner with Devon (yea! for girl time!) It was so much fun and when I got home, I found out that Mr. Mustard and the girls had baked me a birthday cake from scratch. They got me a Strawberry Shortcake card and Paprika even signed her own name, legibly! It's one of those cards I will keep forever and one of those memories I will always cherish.

Today Mr. Mustard had to go to work...so it's just been me and the little ones. They woke up very early today, so I packed them up and we all went to the Wilderness Park. It was a huge hit! Two ponds, hiking trails, koi, and ducks!

Paprika imagined that all the fallen trees were wild animals in the jungle. She found a fallen tree that was a "giant iguana" and wanted to spend all day talking to him. When it was time to go home, she begged me to take him with us...but he weighed oh, about half a ton. So, we left with the promise that we could visit him again and again.

Ginger wanted to run and jump in the pond...and hike, and oh, a million other things. Every day, just when I think I've got her figured out...she surprises me with some new trick!

There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where colors are brighter, the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever again.

The secret garden of your youth is reborn in your children.
I think Paprika would love the story of "The Secret Garden". It was and still is one of my favorites.
My daughter is named Heather Renee.
It literally means flower reborn.
She is a woman with a babe of her own but she is eternally my flower garden.

I am SO glad for you that Ginger is napping. What a relief! Sleep, glorious sleep! She looks much more vibrant in her recent pictures too!

You have a beautiful blog and take beautiful pictures of your girls. I especially like the one where the butterfly sat on your daughter's nose! Fabulous shot!
