Guess What I Found In The Garage?

Ginger is now 14 months (almost 15 months) and she is in to everything. She likes to put glasses on her head upside down. We have no idea why, but that's how it has to be.

Last week I was organizing our garage and found what was supposed to be Ginger's birthday present. Yup, her birthday present for her birthday back in June.

I think I've mentioned it before, but pretty much everything we buy used on Craigslist or Ebay. Except for gifts, which we buy new mostly. I buy pretty much all the girls' gifts during the big Amazon toy sale in December when they post the loss leaders for about 80% off normal prices. We get such fantastic deals and then I store up the gifts to give out during the year: Valentine's day, Easter, birthdays, Christmas (of course!), and random holidays in between. I can get really cool stuff for a small fraction of the cost, which definitely makes me smile!

Remember that doll I gave Ginger on Paprika's birthday? That was from last year and I just saved it til I knew it would be the right time to give it.

Anyhoo- so I was in the middle of organizing and found an unopened and unaccounted for Amazon box, and wouldn't you know it...this horse was inside, brand new and unopened!

Ta-Da! If we wait until later to give it to Ginger, she will have outgrown it by then. So, we had to give it to her right away. We had planned on giving it to her for her birthday, but almost three months later is better than never, right? I guess it will teach me to be a little more organized! Ha! As you can tell, she loves it!

This weekend we did a lot of just hanging out at home. I have to say, Ginger's nap schedule (the fact that she actually IS taking a nap now) is really cramping our social lives! Haha!

But we have a lot of fun at home, and Paprika is starting preschool soon anyway...so I guess it's just one of those things that some days we can get out and go hither and yon, and some days we just stay cozy at home.

After our big day at Disneyland on Friday, both the girls were ready to be homebodies this weekend. Paprika was into her imaginary play world, and Ginger was busy being a mommy to all of Paprika's dolls.

We did make a trip to Michael's and we all went out to lunch together on Saturday. Eating a good meal out is one of those traditions that we love, and plus we just had to get out because someone (me!) was starting to go stir-crazy! I love to get out together, but then sometimes it's also great to just be together at home.

I LOVE that last picture of you and your spunky little nap taker in sunglasses! :) HOORAY for better sleep! I was so excited to hear that you are getting more rest these days! I know - as much as we love sleeping babies, the naps make schedules hard. I'm making the most of Kole's stage because he can still nap easily on the go. I know it won't last long!

I need to check out this Amazon toy sale you're talking about! Such a great idea to stock up and have stuff on hand for gifts.

She looks so adorable in that picture riding the horse, wearing her sunglasses! :) I have never heard of that sale. What a great idea!

Glad to hear that she is napping, WOOHOOO! :)

First of all, you look amazing, E. Just beautiful. Love all of the Ginger pictures! Something about this age and wearing sunglasses upside down. C just started wearing them right side up a week or so ago and I miss the upside down ones. Sounds like you are really making such great use of your time. Glad Ginger loved the present. I love suprises like that. :)

Greetings! I discovered you through another blog. Your two daughters are adorable! I also read your profile... My sincere condolences on the loss of your twins. I cannot imagine how hard that must have been... But your two girls look like they are a joy to you, so pretty too! Take care and nice meeting you.
Best regards,
