Summertime Beach Days

We spent the day today down at the beach. The summer crowds are gone. It's just a few highschool and college students (and us) who are eeking out the last days of summer before school starts back up.

I have to laugh that we even say "summer" and "winter" here because I grew up in Indiana where there really are seasons. Here the difference between summer and winter is about ten degrees. So, I find it hilarious...still...after all these years in LA that people talk about summer ending. I guess it has more to do with school starting back up than anything else.

We have about a week left of our "summer"- Mr. Mustard is finishing up The Amazing Race next week, and will then go back to Dancing With The Stars. His schedule right now is much more flexible than it will be when he goes back to DWTS. I am going to miss him so much! We have had such an incredible summer hanging out together. Ahhhhh!

Ginger turned 14 months old today. Where the heck is the time going? She is now requiring two baths per day...at least...sometimes three. This morning she had a bath after breakfast. Then we went to the beach and she got so sandy, she had another bath when we got home. And then after dinner, I had to give her another bath. I'll probably do another post tomorrow talking about all her milestones- she is doing so much now. I am super proud of her, and can't believe how fast she's growing up.

Any day at the beach is a good one- but today was especially sweet. Sunshine, a warm sandy beach, three of the loves of my life, and chocolate milkshakes for the ride home. Doesn't get any better than that!

Sounds like a perfect time! I've been spoiled the last few weeks as well with minimal husband travels. I can't wait to hear more about what Ginger's been doing. Summer ending to us means that we can go to the museums and aquarium, and pools without insane crowds!

Great day! I love my seasons, but would gladly give them up for a lemon tree in my backyard... sellout? :)

Being a Michigan gal, I know all to well the change of the "seasons" lol

Love the pictures. So glad you all have enjoyed your summer together!

You are so lucky to live close to the beach. It sounds like you had a wonderfully relaxing day. I love the Amazing Race. It's one of my favorite shows. I can't wait for the new season. I've asked my husband several times to try out. He says we'll never make it out of the parking lot! LOL. Thanks Mr. Mustard, for your work on a great show.
