All About The Benjamins!

11-8-12-9

I'm so glad the election is over. Can't we all just get along?! ;-)

On Tuesday, Paprika came out of school crying. Her school had a mock-election and I guess Mitt Romney won. Although Paprika had JUST that morning heard the names Mitt Romney and Barack Obama for the very first time, she was set on Obama winning because of him being the handsomest and all.  She kept saying: I can't believe Knit Romney won!

So, it broke her little heart when she heard of Mitt Romney's win over the loudspeaker. It took me 15 minutes to convince her that, no, a group of 1st through 5th graders were not deciding the fate of our next President.  Ahhh, to be in Kindergarten!

Someone who turns ONE tomorrow is always finding her way into trouble. Her favorite thing to do is to climb inside baskets, cabinets, and anywhere else she's not supposed to be! I found her over in our shoe basket by the front door.

Just as I took the picture, she went CHOMP! She loves chewing on shoes. Don't worry, I always take them away from her before she can really dig in. But, this little photo op was too irresistable. I think it will be blackmail material when she's 16. Haha!

Here's the finished birdhouse. I told you it was fancy! :-)

I put it up on the bookshelf with all the other awards, craft projects, and sculptures. I don't think many birds will find their way to it here, so we may move it outside before too long. But for now, I like it here. :-)

Yesterday we went to ride bikes on the blacktop of Paprika's old school. It has a big open space that is just perfect for learning how to ride a bike. They also have a soft area over by the playground where you can ride, but it's very small.

Paprika was so scared to ride on the blacktop. She just wanted to stay on the soft cushy part by the playground forever. I knew she could do it, but she was too scared.

So, I did what any good mother would do (haha) and offered her a dollar if she'd try to ride on the blacktop. Well, there is nothing in this world that motivates Paprika like cold hard cash, and before I could get the words out of my mouth, she was riding out in the open. She was so proud of herself! Priceless!

When we got home, I opened up my wallet to take out a dollar and she saw a five dollar bill peeking out. She said: Can I have the dollar with Abraham Lincoln on it?  He was such a great President, even better than George Washington.

Does she have my number or what?! Just wait until she hears about Benjamin Franklin! Uh-oh! ;-)

I gave her the dollar and told her that when she had five dollars saved up, I'd trade her.  She said: Oh good, then I'll have ten whole dollars!

Say what?!!!!
