Welcome Summer!

Today was the perfect day for a little jaunt over to the beach. Ginger's favorite thing to say is: Go Beach! Well, that and: One More Time!

Can I just say how much easier it is going to the beach now that Mr. Mustard is around? Wow! Ginger goes one way, and Paprika goes the other...and it is half as much work (maybe less) only having to keep my eye on one child at a time. What will I do when he goes back to work in July?! (I am trying not to think about that!) Haha.

I took Paprika's camera with me to the beach today and used it to take all these photos. Yup, you heard that right. Paprika (age 4) has her own camera now. She used to have a little VTech kid's camera (which was a piece of junk)...and basically it caused her more frustration than joy.

So, instead I gave her my old Canon Powershot SD550...which was my only camera until about three years ago! It's an awesome camera (still)- and I was planning on selling it on Ebay, actually, because it hadn't seen much use in the past few years.

Well, then I looked up how much these sweet little cameras were going for on Ebay, and based on the condition of mine, I would have only gotten about $20 or $30 bucks for it! Which is less than a bad kid's camera costs!

So, I gave it to her, and she's been a little shutterbug ever since. I will have to post some of her photos because some of them are downright awesome...and some are just so comically not awesome! ;-) We always get a good laugh when we look back at them!

Plus, I love that she has her camera now because whenever I forget mine, I know that she's always got a backup!

So that was our day at the beach. We came home and grilled hot dogs, had some watermelon, raspberries, chips & freshly made guacamole, and Mr. M had Coronas with lime. Then it really felt like summer! :-)

Any day spent with your family is a wonderful day. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It looks like you had the whole beach to yourselves. Beautiful day! By the way, the purple butterfly sunglasses are adorable.

Delightful day! I think Paprika's sunglasses are so stinkin cute and fit her to a tee. Adorable ballerina beach babe Ginger looks sooo happy.
I'd love to see some of P's photos.
I still hold to the philosophy that she is an artist.

We are doing our best to enjoy summer without melting or becoming limp, wet, humidity soaked puddles. That means 20-30 minute outdoor activities, maybe 45 minutes if it's a covered area.
Wishing you a ticklish summer breeze kinda day :)

Sounds like a perfect day. That's really cool about the camera. We were just talking over the weekend about getting one for D since his old one broke...

Love their swim gear, especially Paprika's shades. Too cool for school!
