Calling Ma Ingalls!

4-6-11-13-800

Thank you all so much for all the kind words and congratulations. I have been wanting to spill the beans for awhile, and was hoping to wait until at least 12 weeks...but then when I found out about the subchorionic hemmorage, I just knew I needed your support. You all made me feel so good, and so loved. So, thank you!

Since I found out about the SCH, I have been taking it super easy. I have put myself on a sort of modified bed rest...which basically means I act as lazy as possible while still taking care of my house and kids.

I have been feeling pretty guilty about just staying home and not going anywhere with the kids- no fun trips to the beach or park...but I also know it's what's best for the baby right now and this is so temporary.

I keep thinking about how back in the time of Laura Ingalls Wilder, they didn't go to the museum, or to the park. And during the winter, they were stuck inside their 600 square foot log cabin all day long. So, considering we've got roses blooming in the backyard, and things to be planted, and ladybugs crawling around just waiting to be caught...I'd say it's not so bad!

This pregnancy, I have been having the worst morning sickness. I think it's probably the same as it always is, but having to take care of two little ones while fighting all day long nausea and fatigue is kicking my butt! The only thing that helps is for me to eat, eat, eat. I had planned on only gaining the recommended amount...but at this rate, I may end up over 800 pounds by the time this pregnancy goes full-term (if I am lucky enough to get there).

But even though I'm kinda feeling super miserable at the moment, I know it will pass in time, and just hope that it's a good sign for the pregnancy.

Paprika has been having a great time adding to our insect menagerie. We still have the Painted Lady butterfly- she takes her out to play every day. She has even been trying to make her prosthetic wings so she can fly...and she's not giving up on the idea.

We also now have the ladybug, who sleeps in Paprika's room next to her in a little covered glass. And we also have a snail collection going, since the last time it rained she had to collect a pair!

Ginger is having a great time playing with Paprika, and thinks that making messes is the most wonderful thing in the world! More on that later... :-)

(P.S. That sippy cup isn't for Paprika. It's where we put the ladybug when we found her- I had to act quickly and it was the first thing I grabbed in the kitchen!)

Paprika's dresses are always so adorable! I love the prints. Have you ever read the Laura Ingalls Wilder books to her? Emily

EEEK! Congratulations, I hadn't yet seen the prior post! So very happy for you and hoping that the SCH resolves on its own and quickly.

I can very much relate to the difficulties of not being able to get out and play with the LOs due to pregnancy restriction. I actually cried this morning when DH and his mother took Toodle for a walk around the neighborhood and I had to miss watching him explore and enjoy the nice weather. But I just keep reminding myself that it's only a few months and then I can hopefully give him the greatest reward of a sibling!

Hang in there and all the best for a continued healthy pregnancy!

Do whatever makes you feel good.
You are so right, only the necessaries need to be done, the rest will keep. Keeping you and the wee one in my prayers.

It's lucky to find ladybugs! Especially if you are laying in the grass and they crawl on you.
I bet Paprika could charm bees if she were inclined too. She just puts her energy out there and the universe responds. :)

Hello! I came over from Kelly's Korner and love your blog! I also live in LA by the beach and my husband works in reality TV (Bachelor/Bacherlorette) so I thought it would be fun to follow your blog and say hi! My blogs kinda under construction so no posts are up but they will be again soon! Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Hi, I jumped over from a comment I read on Kelli's Corner blog, from her latest post.

I see you are currently pregnant! Congrats! And I did read a little further on, I will keep you in my prayers and thoughts.

I am so very sorry for the loss of your sweet girls. I, too, know the pain of loss. My sweet baby girl, Naomi Hope, was born at 28 weeks emergency c section, 1 lb 12 oz to severe PREECLAMPSIA. (if you are unfamilair with that , please check out preeclampsia.org!) . She was doing so well in the NICU and tragically, passed away after 35 days. She passed June 1, 2009. She would be two years old on the 27th of this month. I miss her every single day .

I did go on to have her sweet little sister, Sadie Marie, who looked JUST like her when she was born, at 34w6d again to preeclampsia but much later on. ANd today she is an almsot 7 month old. She makes my world go round

Your girls are beautiful! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that this pregnancy will be a very "long and boring" pregnancy as they like to say.

feel free to check my blog out areasontolivenaomihope.blogspot.com
