Just Me and You and Nobody Else!
Yesterday (Saturday) - after we got back from swimming and Violet had her nap, we took the girls to the beach for an evening walk.
They were so excited to go - we put over an hour in quarters in the meter, thinking we'd stay until it got dark. Well, about ten minutes into our walk, they were ready to go home! Ginger kept saying that she was so tired of walking...and I was carrying her on my back! Ha!
I think Baby Violet had the best time of all. She was smiling, laughing, and taking in all the scenery from Mr. Mustard's back! :-)
So, after we ditched the beach, we decided to take the girls out for a Saturday night treat. We gave them the choice of ice cream or donuts!
Ginger and Violet really wanted ice cream, and Paprika really wanted donuts! I tried to talk Paprika into ice cream (since the ice cream shop is around the corner from our house and the donut place is 7 miles away) - but she really had her heart set on donuts.
I know I can't always give Paprika her heart's desires, but when it's something as simple as donuts...that's easy. Some of her bigger dreams (like going to Central Park in New York City) are going to be harder to make happen. But little things like this? Boom...done!
She was so excited - you'd have thought she'd won the lottery:
It was actually the first time we've ever been inside the donut shop. Usually when we go to donuts, we drive-thru and take them home.
But since it was just the two of us - I couldn't resist taking her to eat inside.
She was so excited to see how the donuts were made:
There was a long line, so we got to see the whole process. Quite educational, actually!
Paprika even got a fresh free sample (a whole donut!) - does it get any better than that?!
She kept saying: It's just me and you, and no one else. Just me and you, together. Just us. No one else. Our special time. Just us. Tonight. Our date! Just me and you and nobody else.
I'm not going to lie - it was SO FUN! We had the best conversations about everything under the sun.
Then tonight (Sunday) - our neighbor Christina came over to babysit the girls - and Mr. M and I had a date night...
We went down to the beach and had a long walk - it was gorgeous! This time we stayed a lot longer than 10 minutes, and it was just us...nobody else...just us!
And it was perfect!
The End!

Wow, that last picture is just stunning, you must love to go there at night! What a beautiful place to live!
I'm thrilled that Paprika got her doughnuts, it's good to be able to make a wish come true for her, she's such a fantastic big sis.
That is so sweet. We do random and sporadic date with our kids so they get special one on one time with us and it is priceless. I am so glad Paprika had that. And that you an hubby had a date night too.
Great Story, I love Paprika's enthusiasm for everything she sets her mind to. the girls have developed their own special and sweet personalities!!
