We had a busy weekend here. I gave Paprika a makeup set on Saturday, and she had so much fun using it. She loves wearing my makeup, so I figured that having a little set of her own would be right up her alley. Yup, she loved it and it was the highlight of her weekend, for sure.
Ginger is a terrible sleeper. I'm just going to come right out and say it! We're working on it, but man...she had such a hard weekend. She was NOT a happy camper most of the weekend because she was SO TIRED. Basically, if I am not holding her, she is not asleep. So, her naps are basically non-existent, and for a 13 month old, that isn't ideal. Not at all.
So, she was a little bit of a crab apple most of the weekend. She got in a few cat naps while I was holding her, which made everyone's life a little more bearable! Haha!
On Saturday night, we went out to a new restaurant, and it was AWESOME! It was just perfect for us...great food, and it was the kind of place you can get amazing food AND bring kids along (which doesn't happen too often in LA, or anywhere for that matter, I guess...)
I even got a picture of the 4 of us- I had the waiter take it after dinner. I should have had him take it BEFORE we ate...but c'est la vie, right?
After dinner, we all went to Michael's to pick up some craft stuff to do with the girls. When we were there, I started to feel violently ill and realized pretty quickly that the amazing food from the restaurant had given me food poisoning. Awesome.
And you know the funny thing? We had such a good time at the restaurant that I am tempted to go back again anyway...how crazy is that?! I think next time I will just order something different. ;-)

That's great seeing Paprika's make-up! She's so much better than Yoda is! Sorry about Ginger's sleep. I feel our pain. I hope she gets better at it soon b/c it's so hard to function not only with a sleepy kiddo but a sleepy mama as well... Love the family picture - you guys look great. Bummer about the food poisoning. Ugh. Were you able to grab some goodies from Michael's in time?
My 4 year old just had a good giggle over the make up pics. I wish I had a solution for you over the sleeping, or lack of. Maybe it's the teething? My son has had a hard time with teething too. He is 2 and is getting in the molars and he would wake up screaming in the middle of the night. But, teething has always messed with his sleeping.
Please do not go back to that restaurant! LOL
You're brave for wanting to go back to the same restaurant after getting sick. It usually takes me months before I'm willing to try it again. That is some makeup kit you have. I can see why Paprika has so much fun. Hope you're feeling better now.
So you go to a restaurant that serves "grownup food" AND suits children - you get food poisoning but go back? Been there and done that ;) it really is hard to find restaurants you know.......
Oh man Erika! I'm feeling so bad that you've been sleeping with her on your LAP this whole time! I can't imagine. I hope my post helped...I know it's not the only solution, but it has sure worked with my kids. Hang in there! The book I talked about "Sleeping Through the Night" will really help. Read it and come up with a plan and then stick to it! It will be hard at first, but babies are smart and she will soon learn that you are serious and she will sleep on her own. Keep me updated! My fingers are all crossed for you!!!
