Aquarium Field Trip!
Paprika's class went to the "Big" Aquarium today for their class field trip. I nearly didn't let her go because the bus did not have seat belts! Everyone assured me that buses without seatbelts are safer than riding in regular cars. Say what?! I wasn't buying that - so I looked it up, and it turns out that on surface roads when buses are travelling slowly, they are safer than riding in a car.
But on a freeway? The 405?! The deadliest freeway in Los Angeles?!
All bets are off.
So, I wasn't going to let her go. But then she REALLY wanted to go. So, I ended up saying okay, reluctantly.
Because you know she'd NEVER been to this Aquarium before (only a bajillion times!)
Sometimes it's hard to know when to let go and when to hold on tight.
She ended up having a great time at the Field Trip and this mama's heart sighed a great big breath of relief when she came back fine. All's well that ends well! Phew!

Oh my gosh, we are so alike! How can busses not have seat belts? What is that all about?
I'm go glad you were able to feel comfortable enough to let her go and that she had a great time.
We are getting Zane tested for ADHD and IQ and giftedness next month... Hopefully we'll find out some info that is helpful.
Love ya!
