A Little Sprinkling of Fairy Dust!
It's been a week of Fairies, Fairies, Fairies here. Seriously, nothing but fairies! Paprika (age 6) has been busy creating fairy artwork in her "office" - and wow, she has been prolific. She's drawn hundreds of fairies (I'm not joking) - we've been through a ream of copy paper!
She has been setting up little art galleries through the house - she made this one up on her and Ginger's bedroom wall. Ginger and I helped Paprika put it up - and the girls were so excited! They made sure to put the drawings high up because they didn't want Toddler Violet taking anything down!
I know these pictures are crazy awful - sorry they are cell phone pics - but I didn't want good to be the enemy of great - or whatever that saying is. I figured if I wanted to do this post before everyone went off to college, I should probably just post the pictures from my phone. Ha!
These are seven fairy sisters. They all have different attributes that make them special (so says Paprika). One likes to brush her eyelashes. One has a magical mirror. Just stuff like that...
Princess Fairy:
This is fairy reading under a mushroom at night:
Water Fairy (that's why she's blue):
Black and White Dream Fairy:
Butterfly Fairy:
Candy fairy on a lollipop:
Flower Fairy:
Ginger (age 3) has also been drawing a lot. She's also learning how to write- but she doesn't want ANY help (of course!) Even so, she has been writing her name and Violet's names this week - here is one of her drawings:
And another one of Ginger's drawings - I can't get it to rotate, so just turn your head sideways! Haha!
This is pretty representative of the type of person Ginger is drawing lately - she has oodles of drawings of people in this particular style. Love that she has her own signature look:
Here's one of Ginger's drawings of a whole family of people:
Close-up on her - the one surrounded in pink (of course!) - right there in the middle:
The girls decided to make a Fairy House out of a box. They had such a great time with this - they even made furniture for the inside, artwork for the fairies, little beds. They cut windows and doors (with a little help from yours truly) - and otherwise, just had fun creating this little abode:
Paprika spent a lot of time in the backyard looking for fairies. She made up a little fairy song to call them out of hiding:
She looked in the flowers and "all the pretty places":
And then she thought she saw one, but it flew away! Ha!
The End.

I love this post. Maybe something I can look forward to with a little girl...fairies, rather than farts?!? A mother can only hope :)
Erika, these drawings are sooo sweet! She's a really fantastic little girl.
Great idea to hang them up high :)
Happy Birthday to Ginger bear!! I can't believe she is 4!!! Wish I could be there to celebrate. My gift will be a little late, even though I bought it months ago! All my Love Aunt Laura
