Well, I think we're all unpacked now! The girls were helpful in their own ways! ;-)
This week we've been enjoying some perfect Fall weather in the backyard. We have been playing Tea Party every day. Here is a picture of Paprika with Devon's eldest daughter. These two really do go together like peas and carrots.
Ginger also loves playing Tea Party. It can keep her occupied for awhile. I took pictures, of course!
In other news...
During Ginger's nap today I decided to make a change. I cut my hair! What?! I know. Like 7 inches.
I managed to snap a "Before" photo- this is right when I got out of the shower, without make-up on...can't believe I'm posting this for the whole world to see! Haha.
Before:
I didn't mean to cut so much. I was planning on getting my hair cut for real next week (you know, at a salon), and I thought I would just play around with it and then the person next week could fix it.
But, being as I am not in the habit of cutting my own hair, I pulled the hair really taut and cut it- not realizing that it would spring, bounce, and curl up about 4 inches higher than I thought!
Oh well!
During:
So, here is the "After"- I hadn't "done" anything to it- just let it dry on it's own (which, let's face it, is about all that's ever happening with my hair these days!)
After:
I know this might shock you, but this is not the first time I've cut hair. I did it to myself when I was 5 years old (with the left-handed scissors, no less...and I'm right-handed). I also cut Mr. Mustard's hair for him every six months or so. You would think I would have gotten this out of my system by now!
I think next I am going to color my hair, which is really just a bad idea waiting to happen. (It's like giving a young child a book of matches). But, hey, I'm feeling adventurous, and looking for a challenge! Stay tuned...

I love it! I cut mine too about a month ago.
Wow, you are brave to cut your own hair. It looks really good!
Go for it! I love the length on you. Color is fun to try. Your natural color is gorgeous.
I recently had mine cut to dry curly. The wrong cut can make you look like a rabid poodle.I can still blow it out and straighten it too.I added some hi lites this time. It is so easy just misting it and scrunching it in the morning. I thought Charlie might not grab my hair as much. Nope, I think he likes playing with the curls. Viva la difference!
I didn't mean to forget the kids in my last comment. They look like they are having a good time. Devon's daughter is so cute.
I'm a little surprised not to see Ginger in her pumpkin spice hat.
What will they be for Halloween? They have so many outfits to choose from. My kids use to play in their costumes at home before Halloween. One of the perks of having a baby with an October birthday... Halloween themed birthday parties. The kids in the neighborhood couldn't wait every year. They got to wear their costumes a week early. Pinatas, bobbing for apples, Icky ice cream, Haunted hot dogs, creepy cake and dressing up. My favorite for my Boo Baby was the year he was Oscar the grouch and wore a plastic costume printed with a garbage can on it. Even when he took the mask off it was so stinkin cute with his little keds peaking out of the bottom. Ha! He's 31 and just loves when I tell this story. Tehe!
(Here I am curly haired, styled haha! by me, professionally coiffed does usually look better, but I don't like the feel of hair spray, I'm willfull)
What do you think, be HONEST, I have been known to go out in public?
I love the new do! You're brave, and talented! I cut all of my boys' hair, but I have only cut mine once - I cut a short bob right before I went to Africa just to keep it off my neck and not have to deal with it.
Wow, how long does Ginger play tea? That's some attention span! I know C bounces from toy to toy in about two minutes time.
