Park Day!

9-9-09-small-19

After I picked Paprika up from preschool, I had big plans to take these girls to The Children's Museum today. I got Paprika all excited about it, changed her into her water shoes, and made the trek over to the museum. We got up to the gate and it was locked. They were closed for Fall Break. What museum closes for Fall Break?!

Paprika was really disappointed (translation: on the verge of meltdown)...so I had to think fast. Enter Plan B: trip to the park! It was a little hot, but Paprika didn't mind too much. All she really wanted to do was push Ginger in the stroller and give her kisses.

Ginger relaxed and slept...

I will miss this park if we move. We've spent some pretty wonderful afternoons here!

Princess Paprika

Paprika has been saying and doing some very cute things lately. This morning, I overheard her talking to Ginger. She said, "Ginger, do you want to be sisters? Let's be sisters. Okay?" Sniff. Sniff.

Paprika is very into "being a princess." I'll say to her, "Paprika, do you want to go to the Children's Museum?" And she'll say, "No, I'm too busy being a princess right now." She loves playing with her princess dolls, and taking care of her baby dolls. How did I end up with such a girly girl? She is having so much fun with her imagination, and I love it!

My Birthday Pics!

9-7-09-small-3

I had a great birthday! After we got home from visiting our friends, we had birthday cake (made by my lovely friend Jessica), and ordered in Cheesecake Factory. Yum! Paprika spent most of the day thinking it was her birthday, and only after lots of explaining did she understand that it was my birthday. She eventually decided that it was our whole family's birthday. That works!

Birthday!

9-7-09-small-2

Today is Labor Day and also my birthday! We've had a lot of fun this weekend. Mr. Mustard has to work today, but the girls and I are having fun- we're going to a pool party at our friends' house in a few minutes.

Yesterday, Jess came over and we worked on her blog design. I briefly (for about 5 minutes) entertained the idea of becoming a professional blog designer...but after yesterday, I am firmly convinced that being a blog designer is not my calling! :-) It is a lot of work!

I am so blessed to have gotten so many cards, emails, presents, and flowers this birthday from family and friends. It has been a wonderful birthday! I am so thankful for the support of friends and family. How did I get so lucky?!

Labor Day Weekend Get-Away

9-5-09-small-1

Well, I felt like I did enough whining for one week when I was complaining about our housing search yesterday. Today I decided not to worry about it, and just enjoy today for today. We went and looked at four houses this morning (three duds and a maybe), and then headed straight to the beach.

It was a good decision! It was warm and sunny, the perfect day for a day at the beach.

Ginger was very content to lay back and listen to the waves from the comfort of our new double stroller.

Ginger and I hung out on the blanket while Mr. Mustard ran in and out of the ocean after Paprika. Paprika had lots of fun playing in the sand and water, making new friends, and exploring.

It was a great start to my birthday weekend! :-)
